The publishing programme is involved in various initiatives that support students to undertake the course and help them continue to develop their skills after graduation.
Support for study:
- The Mason Publishing Scholarship covers most of the course fee for one publishing student each year and occasionally offers additional scholarships for participants on the Editing Masterclass.
- The Te Reo Māori Publishing Scholarship covers most of the course fee for a fluent Maori speaker enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Publishing (Applied)
- The Publishing Intern Programme offers paid work in the industry for three graduates each year. This programme is run by the Publishers Association of New Zealand with Creative New Zealand funding.
- The Andrew Mason Prize for Most Promising Editor is awarded to a graduate of the Graduate Diploma in Publishing (Applied) each year.
